Butterfly Pleco

Zonancistrus brachyurus (L168), often called Butterfly Pleco, is an L-catfish from Brazil (Rio Negro, Amazonas). The species reaches about 12 cm, is best kept at 26–30 °C and pH 5.5–7. In the aquarium it mainly eats algae, biofilm, vegetables.

Keep stable water values around 26–30 °C and pH 5.5–7. Good oxygenation and clear water movement are recommended. Feed a varied diet of algae, biofilm, vegetables.
