Parancistrus sp. (L258) is an L-catfish from Brazil (Rio Iriri, Pará). The species reaches about 15 cm, is best kept at 26–30 °C and pH 6–7. In the aquarium it mainly eats algae, vegetables, wood.

Keep stable water values around 26–30 °C and pH 6–7. Good oxygenation and distinct water flow are recommended. Offer several hiding places and caves near the bottom. Roots or wood should be present in the aquarium. Feed a varied diet of algae, vegetables, wood.
